It is surprisingly difficult to find toy diggers of lasting quality. Most are made of plastic. They look cheap and tend to fall apart the day they are unwrapped. This Top Race digger is the real deal. It is made of cast iron with all moving parts and even a five year old can immediately tell that this is something special, to be treasured.
My son is 5 and completely obsessed with excavators of all shapes and sizes. He’s had several plastic models, none of which are able to stand up to a boy’s play. However, this one just may be the exception.
This all-metal excavator seems to be very sturdy and looks exactly like a real one (it should... it’s a 1:40 model).
Overall, we are impressed with the model and my son loves it more than breathing... it was his favorite Christmas gift by far. The price was also very reasonable for a well-made toy.
My toddler ADORES this truck! Loves to put things on the bed and dump it onto the floor! It's so easy to use, he's even figured out how to drive it already!
